About Spades
Spades is a classic and highly engaging trick-taking card game played in teams. Players must strategically bid on the number of tricks they expect to win based on their hand, using Spades as the permanent trump suit to outsmart their opponents and reach the target score.

How to Play Spades

Bidding Phase
At the start of each round, each player evaluates their hand and bids the number of tricks they estimate they can take. Bids made by partners are combined to form the team's total target.

Following Suit & Trumping
The player to the dealer's left leads the first card. Subsequent players must follow the led suit if possible; if void in that suit, they may sluff a card or play a Spade to trump and potentially win the trick.

Breaking Spades
Spades cannot be led until they have been "broken" (played on another suit when a player is void), or unless the active player has only Spades remaining in hand.

Scoring & Bag Penalties
Teams earn points for meeting their exact bid contract. Extra tricks taken beyond the bid count as "bags"; accumulating 10 bags results in a 100-point penalty deduction.
